For some time
I resisted the inevitable miscellaneous section on the basis it
seemed a bit of a defeat. But the hard fact is there always seem
to be a few interesting links that just don't seem to fit in anywhere
else. So it's arrived - a bit thin on the ground at the moment.
But as always if you have any recommendations I'm happy to hear

| Common Ground |
Common Ground is one of those strange but wonderful things that defies categorising which is I guess why it's ended up in the miscellaneous section. That doesn't take anything away from this site. Common Ground focuses on the local environment we all inhabit every day and I think they make us realize that it's probably better than we think. Amongst other things are responsible for Field Days, Parish Maps, Flora Britannica, Apple Day, Community Orchards, Tree Dressing Day, Confluence and the campaign for local distinctiveness. |
| Justice for Kirsty Campaign |
 Kirsty MacColl was an English singer and songwriter who was killed by a power boat at the age of 41 whilst scuba diving with her sons in a restricted diving area off Cozumel, Mexico on 18th December 2000. All these years later, no-one has been made accountable to the satisfaction of her family and friends. This is the campaign to seek that justice. |

If you live in the UK you may be familiar with Newsnight reporter Justin Rowlatt's attempt to live an ethical life for a year. As their Ethical Man he (and his family) have had their car taken away, been banned from flying and had their lives subject to an ethical audit. The website shows various films of his experiences and links to his blog. |
